Sven Laqua, User Experience Designer
Sven Laqua joins Digital Science as User Experience Designer, coming from University College London, where he worked as Research Associate on two EU projects – evaluating serious games and designing and prototyping an in-car personalized information discovery system.
During his PhD research at UCL, Sven designed & built web-based and corporate level prototypes for personalized information discovery and exploration. For 2 years, he collaborated with CA Labs, of CA Technologies, to design and implement KnowDis – a knowledge discovery tool for organizations. Sven also worked extensively with eye-tracking technologies – on evaluations, metrics, algorithms and building prototypes, which enable users to navigate information spaces by eye-gaze. His research is published at mayor conferences in Human-Computer Interaction (ACM CHI, BCS HCI, and Interact).
While at UCL, Sven also taught courses on Information Systems, Interaction Design, and a workshop for fellow PhD students on how to communicate research on the Web.
When offline, Sven enjoys travelling – exploring cuisines and cultures.
