The latest version of Digital Science’s research data management tool, Projects, offers integration with figshare

to simplify the workflow from data collection and management to publication.

Projects users are now able to upload files to their Figshare account directly from within the application. Once users connect to their figshare account from within Projects, they are able to push files into their private figshare space with the click of a button. Users can then use the figshare site as normal to store their data in private cloud space or make their outputs citable, shareable and discoverable to the research community by making them public.

Digital Science’s portfolio companies each help with tasks at different points in the research cycle. The potential for using the core features of each tool to make your research management and funding compliance an automated process is huge. This integration between Projects and figshare is a step towards simplifying the workflow processes of the data collection and organisation in Projects to making research discoverable via figshare.

The Projects team added upload capabilities for figshare using the latter’s public API discussed in a previous blog post.
