What is Altmetric?
Altmetric tracks what people are saying about papers online via news stories, blogs, social media, and bookmarking sites, and uses a scoring algorithm to determine the overall score awarded to each paper.
The sources and weighting of each are then displayed in a donut visualisation, which you can find via the Altmetric bookmarklet, or displayed on the article page on a publisher’s website.
