2:AM Conference – Amsterdam 2015

13th May 2015
 | Katy Alexander

It was recently announced that the 2:AM altmetrics conference will be taking place in Amsterdam on October 7-8th 2015. The conference follows on from last year’s 1:AM conference in London and is organised by Altmetric, the Wellcome Trust, PLOS, eLife, Springer and Elsevier.

2:AM will build on the themes of 1:AM and provide a forum for the discussion of all things altmetrics. The organisers are seeking community input in the conference programming, so please share your preferences for topics via their short online survey.

Euan Adie, founder of Altmetric, had this to say about the upcoming conference:

“1:AM was all about bringing altmetrics researchers and tool providers together with the funders and institutions. It went really well – people enjoyed it and we certainly learned a lot.

We’re hoping to repeat the experience with 2:AM, broadening the mix even further with the support of European funders. The idea is the same: can we learn where the opportunities to make research assessment fairer, easier and better are, and on the flip side figure out the potential pitfalls?”

As well as the main conference there will also be a pre-conference hack day on October 6th. The conference will also tie-in with altmetrics15, the altmetrics workshop taking place the day after, on October 9th, also in Amsterdam.
