Celebrate Peer Review Week 2015 #peerrevwk15
This is a remix from the Publons blog on celebrations for the inaugural Peer Review Week 2015
The inaugural Peer Review Week is upon us and yesterday marked the commencement of a week dedicated to discussing, recognising, and improving peer review.
Peer review is at the heart of science. It’s the best tool we have for testing the validity and quality of scientific reports. Without reviewers (and editors) we’d have perpetual motion machines — or at least a lot of published research that claims so. Publon’s goal is to further improve this critical process by giving credit and providing training resources to peer reviewers.
And they have a lot planned for this week, kicking off the celebrations yesterday with the announcement of a partnership with the Royal Society — the inventors of peer review. Great news for science!
Throughout the week they’ll be releasing new features, peer review resources, reviewer rewards, and several exciting new partnerships, all with the aim of celebrating the importance of peer review and reviewers in scholarly communication. Keep an eye on their blog and the hashtag #peerrevwk15 for the latest.
