This November SpotOn London returns, ready to push the boundaries of science communication and policy with another one-day conference.

The event will be held at the Crick Institute on Saturday, 18 November 2017. We’ll be joining forces with BMC and Nature Research – SpotOn17 will be a dynamic, highly interactive meeting of researchers, science communicators, technologists, and those interested in science policy.

At this year’s conference, the focus will be on What makes a great researcher: tools and skills.

What skills should be taught to academics, and who should be teaching them? What is the best way to make sure that we are developing ‘open’ skills, and how do we facilitate more effective collaboration? How can the research community keep abreast of the latest tools and technologies?

Our aim is to bring the research community together to share knowledge and expertise about the technological expertise that can complement any stage of the research process, and agree on the essential parts of a researcher’s toolbox. This could include research data management, research integrity best practice, or tools for diversity in science, to name just a few.

Come and join us to talk about the tools and skills that great researchers need. Follow #SpotOn17 and @SpotOnLondon to keep up to date with the latest news surrounding this event.
