Timo’s Reddit AMA – A Summary

Science SubredditOn Tuesday afternoon, Digital Science’s Timo Hannay took part in a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) event on the science section.

For those of you that are not aware what an AMA is, it’s an opportunity for anyone on Reddit to ask a person of note a question, usually with a focus on a specific subject area. Timo’s focus was on the future of science publishing and how tools and technologies are changing the lives of academic researchers.

Timo had an hour to answer a collection of questions, ranging from the future of open-access journals, to the best ways to explore and distribute research in new fields of science. He even offered up some career advice for those aspiring to work with disruptive technologies:
