FuturePub Boston was an opportunity for researchers and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and make personal connections. Representatives from four different emerging companies spoke on November 10th at the Digital Science office in Cambridge. The event was hosted by my colleagues at Overleaf. Each speaker had about ten minutes to talk about how their products are helping advance scholarly research.

Philippe Chuzel and Thibault Honegger journeyed from France to talk about Peerus. Peerus helps connect researchers with emerging research in their fields by continuously scanning and indexing published papers and matching those papers with users.

Rebecca Shumbata represented Kudos at FuturePub. Kudos helps researchers maximize visibility of their published articles.

Grace Xiao spoke about how her company, Kynplex, which helps researchers across the globe connect and keep up with current research.

Sal Savo of Tetrascience explained how his company helps researchers monitor and control labs remotely, sending alerts when parameters like temperature are exceeded so that corrective action can be taken quickly.

After the talks, participants had time to socialize informally, talk directly to the speakers, and connect on a personal level. This was the second time FuturePub has been held in Boston, and there have also been FuturePub events in London.
