#Future350 – Looking to the Future on the 350th Anniversary of the Journal

6th March 2015
 | Katy Alexander

Today is the 350th anniversary of Philosophical Transactions, the world’s first science journal! Academic publishing has changed a lot in 350 years, but perhaps not as much as one might expect!

To celebrate we thought it would be interesting to hear your thoughts about what the future of scholarly communication will (or should) be. We’re all about innovation at Digital Science and we think there are lots of opportunities for technology to improve the communication of academic research, but how and in what way?

Share your vision of the future of publishing using the #future350 hashtag! Perhaps you think journals will become extinct, or maybe you think they will become increasingly interactive and dynamic? Whatever you think please do get involved on Twitter – the tweeter of the best tweet will win one of our fancy new Digital Science glass beaker mugs!
