ICE Publishing, the publishing division of the Institution of Civil Engineers, has partnered with our portfolio company ReadCube in order to enhance discoverability of its journals and eBooks.

The ICE Publishing portfolio, covering all major civil engineering and construction disciplines, as well as a burgeoning collection of materials science journals, will now be indexed in ReadCube’s Discover service. In addition to being searchable across ReadCube’s web, desktop, and mobile reading portals, the content will also be included in ReadCube’s search engines, personalised recommendation engine, and related article feeds.

Mike Cookson, Publisher and General Manager of ICE Publishing, said:

‘In today’s highly competitive online research environment, it is incumbent on publishers to ensure their content is discoverable and accessible through as many channels as possible. Indexing by ReadCube will help us improve our discoverability by the global engineering research community.’

In addition to deep-indexing, when viewing content within any of ReadCube’s apps, the ICE Publishing collection will be available in ReadCube’s popular Enhanced PDF format. Dynamic features include hyperlinked in-line citations, annotation tools, clickable author names, instant access to supplemental content and figures, social sharing, and altmetrics. Robert McGrath, CEO of ReadCube added:

‘Engineering is a rapidly growing segment of the ReadCube community. We are pleased to have ICE Publishing as a partner and to have their online content discoverable within the ReadCube ecosystem. Together, we’re making it easier for our readers to find the resources they need to pursue their next big project.’
