Founded in 1807, The Geological Society of London (GSL) is a learned and professional body of nearly 12,000 Earth scientists with a remit to investigate, interpret, discuss, inform and advise on the nature and processes of the Earth, their practical importance to humanity, and, in the interests of the public, to promote professional excellence. The Geological Society Publishing House is a major international Earth science publisher and is dedicated to providing a high-quality service to Earth scientists throughout the world. With that in mind, today they announce a partnership with our portfolio company ReadCube to enhance the discoverability of their scholarly journals and books.

More than 20,000 articles are now searchable across ReadCube’s web, desktop, and mobile reading portals and also included in ReadCube’s search engines, related article feeds and popular recommendation engine.

Neal Marriott, Director of Publishing, Library and Information Services say of the news:

“Our aim is to ensure that our content is discoverable to readers worldwide. We also want to offer our readers the best possible reading experience and this collaboration with ReadCube supports both of these objectives.”

When read within any of the free ReadCube apps, GSL articles will be available in ReadCube’s Enhanced PDF reading format. Enhancements include hyperlinked in-line citations and figures, annotations, clickable author names, instant access to supplemental content, social sharing, and altmetrics.
