Every movement needs it articulators and storytellers: open-source software has Eric Raymond; the web has Tim O’Reilly. A strong candidate for that mantle in e-science is Michael Nielsen, who keynoted at this year’s Science Online London and whose much anticipated book, Reinventing Discovery
, is about to be published by Princeton University Press. I was lucky enough to see a preview copy a few weeks ago and my thoughts are now out in Nature Physics
