The engineering group at Digital Science have recently become proud members of the Google Glass Explorers programme thanks to our small pitch on  Google+.

In anticipation of receiving our Google Glass unit in the next couple of months (hopefully), we want to reach out to the wider scientific community for ideas for Glasses applications within research. We already have a few ideas bubbling away, and are preparing the engineering team for a Glasses themed hack break this summer, but would love to see what other ideas are out there that we might prototype/build.

We’ll keep this blog updated on when we’ll be receiving our Glasses, but in the meantime if you have any ideas let us know by commenting on this post, or posting to twitter with the hashtag #dsciglasses.

We’re already exploring ideas using computer vision and laboratory assistants, but the more the merrier.
