Digital Science is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the 2022 event, and look forward to meeting you in person in the exhibit hall. We will be presenting a 50-minute talk and a 15-minute plenary session (details below), so if you are attending this year’s AAUDE please join us. We are at stand number 1.

Concurrent session
Monday 25 April @ 8:30-9:20am ET: Leveraging Big Data to Promote Institutional Strengths and Plan for the Future

Speakers: Heidi Becker, Director of Client Engagement, Dimensions and Caleb Smith, Director, Research Intelligence and Analytics, University of Michigan Medical School

Do you have the data you need to effectively support and promote your university today and well into the future? Using an unprecedented amount of information relating to the research lifecycle available through Dimensions, we will explore how to leverage data to answer questions like:

  • In which fields is my institution receiving the most funding, and how does this differ from 10 years ago? What portion of this funding is international?
  • What funding have we already secured that will be active over the next 5 years?
  • Where are we publishing the most highly cited work, and how can we measure what research is receiving the most public attention?
  • What do our collaboration networks – domestic and international – look like? Have they expanded over time?
  • Are we fully articulating the translational impact of our research? How much of our research is being referenced in intellectual property records? Clinical trials? Policy documents?

Plenary session
Monday 25 April @ 1:30-1:45pm ET: Connecting the Research Lifecycle with Linked Data

Speakers: Heidi Becker, Director of Client Engagement, Dimensions and Caleb Smith, Director, Research Intelligence and Analytics, University of Michigan Medical School
