Christian Herzog, CEO, Dimensions
Christian Herzog is the Co-Founder and MD of ÜberResearch, and the CEO of Digital Science – Discovery & Analytics. He’s a medical doctor by training and has also studied economics. Christian worked at Elsevier as a VP to the SciVal Custom Solution Group, and then as VP in Product Management for the entire SciVal product portfolio. He joined Elsevier in 2010 when Elsevier acquired Collexis, a start-up focused on solutions for academic customers and funding bodies, and served as Executive VP and MD for Collexis, working in global product management and sales. Christian lives with his family in Cologne, Germany.
Isabel Thompson, Head of Data Platform, Digital Science
Isabel is the Head of Data Platform for Digital Science. Her background spans strategy, investment and technology – including at Digital Science’s parent company Holtzbrinck, and at Oxford University Press.Isabel earned her BA in Classics from the University of Oxford, followed by a Master’s in Psychology and Education from the University of Cambridge. She won the Society for Scholarly Publishing’s (SSP) Emerging Leader Award in 2018, and joined the SSP Board in 2019. Whether in work or outside of it, Isabel’s primary interests are in emerging technologies, strategy, start-ups and psychology – and exploring the increasingly important interplay between them in order to better serve scientific research and the broader innovation lifecycle.
