EAHIL 2020 ONLINE
Ben McLeish, Director of Engagement and Advocacy, from Altmetric (part of the Digital Science portfolio) will be speaking at this event. He will present a talk on ‘Navigating Open Access Mandates: benefits, limitations, and the real-world library impact of funder policies‘. He will explore why, increasingly, funding agencies require the results of the work they support to be made Open Access. Are these mandates achieving their desired effects to spur innovation and accelerate research and public engagement? What do these mandates mean for health librarians who support researchers? To answer these questions, researchers examined the relationship between Open Access (OA) publishing and research production, innovation, and communication with the public.
Ben will also be presenting ‘Using altmetrics to power literature reviews for clinicians: the value of public policy data’
The EAHIL (European Association for Health Information and Libraries) is an active association uniting librarians and information professionals working in medical and health science libraries in Europe. PLEASE NOTE: This event was originally planned for May 2020, but will now take place online in November.
