Representation in Research: A #DSDataDive for Ada Lovelace Day 2019
We want to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day with you by exploring new ways to combine and develop our research with other existing data sources and find ways of bringing these together to monitor progress at a glance. To do this, we are looking for people with any of the following skills:
- Knowledge of the challenges facing us regarding representation in research for women as well as other underrepresented groups
- The coding know-how that we need to bring this data together in one place
- Data-visualisation or graphic design skills to make our collated data easy to read
- The desire to help!
We’ll provide the space, internet access, and fuel to bring people together. You’ll provide one or more of the aforementioned skills. Please bring a laptop and charger. If you have a skill we haven’t mentioned, but you want to contribute to this project, please join us.
The event will run from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday 10th October, which is not a lot of time, but enough to make a good start on this project. Registration and nibbles from 5:30pm.
