BIG is the skills sharing network for individuals involved in the communication of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects. We are delighted to announce that our very own Dr Suze Kundu will be speaking at their upcoming BIG Event Online.
Suze will be part of the line-up for the ‘Research Excellence Framework: It never sleeps‘ session from 10:00 – 11:00 on Tuesday 21 July. This hour long panel discussion will appeal whether you’re new to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) or an old hand. REF is really important to universities: as we come up to submission for REF2021, what tools are there to help? What do we need to think about for the future? REF never goes away, so what can we take from this REF for the future? Why does REF matter to those who aren’t familiar with it? Join Suze and fellow speakers, Helen Obee Reardon, Cardiff University School of Engineering and Jamie Gallagher, Engagement Consultant, to hear about their experiences and knowledge of some specific technology and evaluation tools.
*Please note that this event is for BIG members only
Speakers
Dr Suze Kundu, Head of Public Engagement, Digital Science

Suze is fascinated about breaking down the building blocks of life into its fundamental components – luckily science has enabled her to turn this destructive curiosity into a career. She has a BSc in Chemistry, a MSc in Analytical Chemistry and a PhD in Materials Chemistry from University College London. A passionate educator, she has also studied for a PGCE in Senior School Science, and an MEd in University Learning and Teaching. After six years lecturing in the Department of Materials at Imperial College London and at the University of Surrey’s Chemical and Process Engineering Department, she joins Digital Science to head up our external engagement.
You can find Suze sharing her passion for science through live lectures, on TV (Discovery Channel) and radio, and in print.
