About the role

Part of the Digital Science portfolio, Altmetric provides the tools that allows users to track and measure activity around academic and corporate research, pulling patterns and compelling stories from hundreds of thousands of online conversations each month.

We’re looking for a Marketing Executive to help us expand our activities within our target segments and to support the overall marketing and sales efforts. Working with the wider Altmetric and Digital Science teams, you’ll be responsible for helping to share and execute marketing plans, create collateral, run events and manage campaigns across all of our target markets and channels. Tracking progress and reporting on results from marketing and sales activities will be a key part of this role and a proactive and problem-solving attitude is essential.

Key tasks

Campaign management

  • Manage and deliver creative and integrated campaigns across social, web, and email
  • Create and deliver regular quarterly newsletters to send to our target audiences
  • Support the creation and distribution of targeted articles, reports and whitepapers to our target audiences
  • Monitor campaign impact through the sales funnel and update management team through regular reporting and drive continuing improvements

Content creation

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to create engaging customer reference stories, videos, social media and written content
  • Own and manage the Altmetric blog
  • Development of ongoing social media campaigns and content, using a social media management system to drive programme awareness amongst our key target audiences
  • Deliver ad-hoc assets to support programme and development activities
  • Management of our website and uploading of new content


  • Managing creative assets and resources, such as software, logos, images and special fonts and act as the key contact for all things design
  • Keeping up to date and ensuring that our external communications comply with GDPR and other global data privacy regulations
  • Management of global event and conference logistics
  • Staying up to date with industry developments, tools and trends and be a leading voice and creative driver within the team and a champion of our brand guidelines
  • Report regularly on activity and results
  • Other ad-hoc marketing duties



  • Experience of planning social media & marketing campaigns and ability to work with senior management to develop marketing plans
  • Relevant experience developing content for marketing campaigns across a wide range of channels including social media, web, blogs, and email marketing
  • Strong written copywriting and design skills to be used across the marketing mix
  • Experience with campaign and/or web analytics tools


  • Experience leading and developing marketing plans
  • Good knowledge of HTML for marketing purposes
  • Video editing experience for social media
  • Experience of delivering marketing campaigns to engage multiple audiences
  • Current programs used: Canva, Hootsuite, WordPress, Pardot, Salesforce

Our London office is based in Farringdon, however, we support remote and flexible working and all staff are set up to work remotely during the current pandemic.
