Figshare is looking for a Product Sales Manager to join their great team

This role will be a home based position, ideally based in Spain, Holland, Denmark, Germany or the UK

Figshare is a London based startup that has built a platform where users can securely store, share, and manage their research outputs. The platform allows users to upload any file format to be made visualisable in the browser so that figures, datasets, and other research outputs can be disseminated in a way that the current scholarly publishing model historically did not allow. The Product Sales Manager will be responsible for growing the Figshare for Institutions market in Western Europe. Figshare is a portfolio company of Digital Science. You will report to our Director of Business Development & Strategy and work closely with the global Figshare and Digital Science Sales Teams. Our core focus is on building long-term relationships within institutional accounts by providing  product support and decision guidance in a partnership structure. As our Product Sales Manager, you will build and implement a consultancy-led sales approach. Your success will be measured by achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with our vision and values (https://knowledge.figshare.com/articles/item/mission-statement-and-core-beliefs).

Your Key Responsibilities will be to;

  • Develop and implement our sales strategy and plan with the Figshare and Digital Science marketing and Sales teams
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Figshare products and be able to expertly communicate to both internal and external stakeholders.  This will include developing demos, proposals, contracts and client documentation as needed
  • Develop a deep understanding of the fast moving open research space including national open data policies and align them with the business development strategy
  • Develop a team selling approach and act as a liaison between prospective and existing clients, technical team, marketing, management, and others as needed
  • Source, develop, and nurture client relationships and referrals to the highest standard.  This will include generating leads and visiting customers, conferences and tradeshows
  • Capture customer use cases and user requirements to feed back into product development and senior management
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales pipeline activities, including the use of Salesforce to aid internal communication and to maximize sales potential

You will have;

  • Proven sales experience in the academic library, non-profit, or government markets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building skills
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred
  • Experience of selling products that require the agreement of a range of stakeholders
  • Experience of selling information solutions/software
  • Comfortable working in unstructured organisations, particularly at a startup
  • Team player, but also comfortable working independently
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
