New Video Demonstrates How the Overleaf and Aries Systems Partnership Simplifies Submission Processes for Authors and Scholarly Publishers

In 2015, our portfolio company Overleaf announced a strategic partnership with Aries Systems, a solutions provider for scholarly publishers and provider of the Editorial Manager Ingest Service for online submission and peer review. The partnership between Overleaf and Aries Systems allows authors to directly submit manuscripts created in the Overleaf platform to the nearly 7,000 scholarly journals that use Editorial Manager.

This new Overleaf & EM Ingest Demonstration Video, jointly produced by Overleaf and Aries Systems shows how the submission process for authors is simplified while helping journals capture structured manuscript metadata and correctly compiled LaTeX files. It also demonstrates the workflow capabilities of Editorial Manager, including how journals can send the manuscript back to the author to verify submission data, and capture missing information, before proceeding with peer review.

Overleaf TeXperts are on hand to help with any questions authors have whilst writing their papers. With real-time, automated composition, the author can see what the finished file will look like – as they write. Once a manuscript is complete, an author can then submit the file for publication with 1-click, automatically transferring to the submission system via the Aries Editorial Manager ingest service.

Overleaf continues to develop strategic partnerships such as this with the goal of bringing the whole scientific documentation process into one place in the cloud allowing authors to simply open a journal template, write, invite others to collaborate or review documents at any time, submit, and publish without having to install special or expensive software.
