alpsp logoDaniel Hook (@danielintheory), our Managing Director, will present at ALPSP’s upcoming seminar, titled “Disruption, Development or more of the same?” to be held in London on May 25th.

The seminar is aimed at senior managers in product, editorial and technology development, commercial management, strategy and business development in all areas of academic and scholarly publishing.

See below for ALPSP’s description of the seminar:

The scholarly publishing market is experiencing ongoing challenges. As a result, publishers have adopted technological, business model and commercial approaches to meet them.

But where are we now? Which organisations are really breaking new ground? Who and what is causing disruption in publishing? Is technology helping or hindering development? Have recent mergers and acquisitions changed the market? Are venture capital and private equity involvement affecting business behaviour? How does an incubator view the landscape? What about the start-ups emerging from academia? How do smaller publishers remain commercially viable?

This seminar offers an opportunity for in depth discussion of these and other trends and their potential for causing disruption and upheaval. Expert speakers will offer insight from a range of perspectives. Case studies will highlight some of the new models being used to meet changing markets and user behaviours.

If you wish to attend the seminar you can book via the ALPSP website. You will also be able to follow all the Twitter discussion via #ALPSPdisruption.
