From Proof of Concept to Single-Patient Care: A Digital Science and Systasy Partnership Case Study

23 September 2026, 14:35, AI to Innovate track

In this session, Digital Science will focus on the infrastructure layer beneath AI-native drug discovery, where the substrate determines the ceiling. Foundation models and machine-generated hypotheses are only as trustworthy as the evidence and provenance feeding them. Digital Science along with client and partner, Systasy, will showcase a collaborative case study integrating Systasy’s laboratory-based technology, designed for high-speed, deep-phenotypic insights, with Digital Science’s AI-driven knowledge graphs, built on Dimensions relationship data that extends beyond open-access literature. Combining these unique assets, we have established a highly efficient process for precision medicine and drug repurposing. Following a successful joint proof of concept, we will discuss how open science, reproducibility, and machine-actionable metadata are becoming the real determinants of AI-driven discovery, and look ahead to rare diseases and individualized precision medicine at the single-patient level.

Speakers:
Mark Hahnel, VP of Open Science, Digital Science
Alexander Mouris, Head of Functional Genomics, Systasy Bioscience
