We’re delighted to announce that we will be holding an in-person 2-day event for our UK and European User Community.

The Agenda So Far

We’ve outlined an overview of what you can expect from the event below, and some key timings to help inform your attendance and travel plans.

November 6th Day 1: 10:00 Welcome (arrival from 9.30)

Day 1 Themes:

  • Key highlights from the Figshare product roadmap, including recent releases and enhancements, new functionality and a look to the future.
  • Research data management and non-traditional research outputs. We’ll hear from our clients on how they utilise Figshare to manage their NTROs and hear an update on the State of Open Data.
  • Figshare as an integrated institutional repository. We’ll explore how Figshare can become part of a comprehensive research management workflow.

We’re excited to hear from our client speakers from Carnegie Mellon University, Karolinska Institutet, University of Arts London and the University of Sheffield during Day 1.

Day 1 will also include lots of opportunities for networking and community collaboration, with interactive group sessions during the afternoon agenda and informal drinks at a local venue from 17:00.

November 7th Day 2: 09:30 Welcome to day 2 (arrival from 09:00)

Day 2 Themes:

  • Key highlights from the Symplectic Elements product roadmap, including recent releases and enhancements, new functionality and a look to the future.
  • Beyond standard RIM: stories and themes from around the world. We’ll explore new and innovative use cases for Elements and hear from clients around the world.
  • Showcasing research & impact to a global audience. We’ll be diving into the public-facing side of Elements and how we can help you get the word out about what your institution is doing. This group of sessions will include some early outcomes from the Research Impact Working Group, as well as a high-level look at the Sustainable Development Goals and their role in research strategy.
  • REF 2029, including updates on our plans for REF2029 and a panel discussion on how institutions are preparing for the exercise. Followed by a workshop for those who wish to attend.

Please note that the programme for Day 2 will include a REF workshop beginning at 15:45 and running through until the end of the day. For those who do not wish to attend, please make an early departure.

We will be holding two panel sessions during Day 2: one on Research Impact (how to create and embed impact within your day-to-day working) and one on REF 2029 (a general discussion around how Elements can support needs). If you’d like to be involved in either panel, please let us know when you register.
